In addition to its fundamental roles in a community, education now serves a new purpose as part of the democratic process in the modern world. As they discussed the social shifts of cultures from the so-called traditional-rural to the industrial-urban realm, various social philosophers envisioned paradoxical roles for modern schooling.

There is a clear tendency for the government to attempt to influence education in favor of its own ideology or needs if it is responsible for institutionalizing education and using educational institutions to transmit particular information or skills. The government may introduce communalism, xenophobia, caste, class, and gender bias through education. The organizations in charge of them, the government, the market, communities, political parties, or the scientific community, inevitably have an impact on educational apparatuses. Therefore, the organizations in charge of mainstream education always hold the reins.
3. Education is accomplished through competition and merit-based evaluation in a democratic system. When it comes to getting an education, one should never be guided by their caste, creed, gender, or family history. Academic success is never attributed to a person’s familial background; even if they are born into a household with plenty of chances, they still need to work hard to attain and establish it. In today’s democratic society, social mobility through education is achievable. It is possible that caste, race, gender, or ethnicity frequently influences education for particular people, but if this occurs, democracy has failed.
