  2. Stability Order: The general order of stability is 
    Tertiary haloalkanes > Secondary haloalkanes > Primary haloalkanes
  3. Reason for Stability Order: Stability mainly arises from the ease of formation and stability of carbocation intermediates formed during reactions such as nucleophilic substitution (especially (SN1) reactions).
    Tertiary carbocations are stabilized by:
    • Inductive effect (+I effect) of alkyl groups, which donate electron density.
    • Hyperconjugation: Delocalization of electrons from adjacent C–H bonds.Primary carbocations are least stable due to minimal alkyl substitution.Secondary carbocations have intermediate stability.
