Solution

  1. Front crawl: In the front crawl stroke, the swimmer’s body faces downward in the water. A continuous flutter kick is used while the arms move alternately, reaching forward and pulling back under the water. The front crawl is generally the fastest competitive swimming stroke and is moderately easy to learn.
  2. Backstroke: In a backstroke race, the swimmer must stay on their back and use a proper double-arm backstroke or elementary backstroke. Most disqualifications, apart from stroke faults, happen during turns, such as when swimmers roll onto their stomach too early while approaching the wall or fail to push off the wall while on their back.
  3. Breaststroke: Most disqualifications in breaststroke also happen during turns. Swimmers are required to touch the wall with both hands at the same time; touching with only one hand or one hand before the other leads to disqualification. Using more than one dolphin kick before starting the breaststroke kick during a turn, or taking more than one underwater arm pull, can also result in disqualification.
  4. Butterfly: Similar to breaststroke, butterfly swimmers must touch the wall with both hands at the same time during turns to avoid disqualification. Using an illegal kick, such as a flutter kick, also results in disqualification.
