Solution
The economic well-being of a country depends on the balanced development of both villages and cities. Villages are the backbone of a nation because they produce food and raw materials, while cities contribute through industries, trade and modern facilities. If villages remain poor and underdeveloped, the country’s overall progress becomes uneven.
The poem A Roadside Stand highlights the miserable condition of rural people who struggle for a better life. They expect support and fair opportunities from city people and the government, but their condition often remains unchanged. Therefore, villages should be provided with proper education, healthcare, roads, electricity and employment opportunities. Balanced development can reduce poverty, migration to cities and economic inequality, leading to the overall prosperity of the nation.
