1. The black people were not allowed to use their right to vote.
2. Black students had no choice but to attend separate schools specifically set aside for them.
3. They faced segregation in restaurants, on trains, in other modes of transportation, and in hotels.
4. They had to work in low-wage jobs and were often employed in unskilled work.
5. They weren’t allowed to join political groups or trade unions either.
6. The culture of the black people was also not respected.
