Visual Symptom	A person can see nearby objects clearly, but distant objects appear blurred.	A person can see distant objects clearly, but nearby objects appear blurred.
Point of Image Formation	Light rays from a distant object focus in front of the retina instead of on it.	Light rays from a near object focus behind the retina instead of on it.
Anatomical Cause	It occurs when the eyeball is too elongated from front to back, or the lens/cornea is excessively curved.	It occurs when the eyeball is shorter than normal from front to back, or the lens is too flat.
