Solution

  • Sector: A sector is a region formed by two radii and the arc between them in a circle. The sector lines are drawn from the centre point of the runway, passing through the points where the throwing arc meets the runway lines. The sector length is 100 metres. At this distance, the inner edges of the sector lines are 50 metres apart. The shot must land within the legal throwing sector of 34.920°.
  • Lane: A standard athletic track is 400 metres long and has 8 lanes. Each lane is separated by boundary lines. Every lane should be 1.22 metres wide, and the lane lines should be 5 cm wide. All lanes must have equal width. Runners must stay within the lane they start in. If a runner moves out of their lane or interferes with another runner, they will be disqualified.
