Solution

Crease is one of several lines on the pitch near the stumps, including popping, return, and bowling creases.

  • Popping Crease: The popping crease is the same length, parallel to the bowling crease, and 1.22mt (4 feet) in front of the wicket. The popping crease must be designated at least 1.83m (6 feet) perpendicular to the pitch, on both sides.
  • Bowling Crease: The Bowling Crease line is 20.12 meters (66 feet) away and marks the opposite end of the pitch. A bowling crease is 2.64m (8 feet 8 inches) long, with the middle stump positioned dead centre. This crease determines whether there is a ball or not.
