Solution

Sr. No. Double Salts Complex Salts
1. Double salts are formed by the combination of two or more simple salts in a definite ratio. Complex salts contain a complex ion formed by a central metal ion and ligands.
2. In aqueous solution, they dissociate completely into all their constituent ions. In aqueous solution, the complex ion remains intact.
3. They give the tests for all the constituent ions in solution. They generally do not give the usual tests for the ions present inside the complex ion.
4. Example: Mohr’s salt, FeSO4·(NH4)2SO4·6H2O. Example: Potassium ferrocyanide, K4[Fe(CN)6].
