Solution
The Oparin-Haldane theory, commonly known as the chemical or naturalistic theory. Life was assumed to have evolved gradually around 4000 - 3600 million years ago. According to Oparin-Haldane’s theory of evolution, life on Earth emerged through physicochemical processes that resulted in the formation of both inorganic and organic components. The interaction of organic compounds resulted in the formation of macromolecules, which eventually formed the first living system or cells. According to the hypothesis, ‘life’ evolved spontaneously on Earth from non-living elements. Environmental changes led to the formation of both inorganic and organic molecules. Chemical evolution cannot occur under current environmental conditions on Earth. Life originated only on primitive Earth, which had favourable conditions.
