Solution
Advantages of Well Irrigation:
- The poor Indian farmer may readily afford wells, which are the most straightforward and affordable kind of irrigation.
- When the need arises, a well can be used as a stand-alone source of irrigation. Conversely, canal irrigation is governed by other organisations and cannot be utilised whenever it pleases.
- Overwatering caused by canals causes reh issues, whereas well irrigation does not.
- While a well can be drilled anywhere that is convenient, the area of canal irrigation is limited.
- Well water contains a variety of compounds, including nitrate, chloride, sulphate, and others. When they arrive in the agricultural field with well water, they increase the fertility of the soil.
- The farmer has to pay regularly for canal irrigation, which is not the case with well irrigation.
