Solution
- Take a small compass and a bar magnet.
- Place the bar magnet in a fixed position on the drawing board using an adhesive material.
- Mark the boundary of the magnet.
- Place the compass near the north pole of the magnet. The south pole of the needle points towards the north pole of the magnet.
- Mark the ends of the needle.
- By moving the needle, we can see that the north pole is occupied by the south pole of the needle.
- By joining the points marked, a smooth curve is obtained.
