The Takht-e-Taus, also known as the Peacock Throne, was the splendid jewelled imperial seat of the Mughal emperor, richly decorated with gold, gems and peacock motifs. It symbolised supreme royal authority and splendour, was kept in the imperial court, and was prized by rivals and invaders.
