I agree. Cotton and jute are labour‑intensive agro‑based crops that create large-scale employment (farmers, ginning, spinning, weaving, packaging, transport, etc.) and generate exportable finished goods (textiles, sacks, fibre products), thereby earning valuable foreign exchange.
However, to fully realise this potential the sectors need reliable raw‑material supplies, modern machinery, stable power and supportive trade/marketing policies,without these issues (low yields, obsolete equipment, power shortages) employment and export gains will be limited.
