Solution

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which was earlier called the Indian Standards Institution, provides manufacturers with a licence to use the well-known standard mark. The BIS certification system is based on process quality control. It ensures that quality is maintained from the raw materials to the production process and finally to the finished product. The main objective is to make sure that the final product meets the prescribed standards. Under this scheme, licences are issued only after confirming that the manufacturer has the ability and capability to continuously produce goods according to BIS standards.
