Solution

Given:

  • Rhombus ABCD
  • Side BC = 6 cm
  • Angle ∠B = 120°

Steps of construction:

1. Draw side BC = 6 cm.

2. At point B, construct an angle of 120° (∠B = 120°).

3. From point B, along the direction of the angle constructed, cut off segment BA = 6 cm since all sides of a rhombus are equal.

4. At point C, construct an angle of 60° since adjacent angles of a rhombus are supplementary and angles at B and C add up to 180°.

5. From point C, along this angle, cut off segment CD = 6 cm.

6. Join points A and D to complete the rhombus ABCD.

ABCD is the required rhombus with side length 6 cm and ∠B = 120°.
