Solution
A and B are true
Explanation:
In females, meiosis begins earlier than in males. In females, it begins around the 12th week of pregnancy during fetal development and continues through prophase I until puberty. The interval between meiosis I and II is shorter (continuous and rapid) in males, whereas it is longer in females, where meiosis II doesn’t finish until after fertilisation. After meiosis I, which signifies the production of the secondary oocyte rather than the primary oocyte (the primary oocyte already exists from fetal life), the first polar body is created. Ovulation, not menstruation, is caused by an LH surge. If fertilisation fails, a decrease in progesterone and estrogen causes menstruation.
