Solution

We know that

Charge of one electron = `F/N_A`    ...(i)

Where

F = 96500 C mol−1

NA = 6.022 × 1023 mol−1

Putting these values in the equation, (i) we get

Charge of one electron = `96500/(6.022 xx 10^23)`

= 1.602 × 10−19 C

∴ The electric charge carried by one electron on the basis of Faraday’s constant is 1.602 × 10−19 C.
