Solution

I asked my parents how they make choices while buying everyday items. They usually consider the price, quality, usefulness and family needs before making a purchase. They also compare different products and choose the one that provides better value within their budget.

Opportunity cost is the value of the next best alternative that is given up when a choice is made. For example, if my parents spend money on a new school bag instead of buying new shoes, the new shoes are the opportunity cost of their decision.
