Solution

  1. I would keep my house, terrace, balcony and surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding.
  2. I would not allow water to collect in old tyres, coconut shells, flowerpots, buckets, bottles, cans or boxes.
  3. I would empty and clean water coolers, trays and containers regularly so that mosquitoes do not breed in them.
  4. I would keep all water-storage vessels properly covered.
  5. I would make sure that drains are not blocked and that stagnant water is removed from the surroundings.
  6. I would dispose of household waste properly and would not allow garbage to accumulate near my house.
  7. I would use mosquito nets, window screens and mosquito repellents whenever necessary.
  8. I would also request my neighbours to maintain cleanliness and prevent water from collecting around their homes.
  9. I would cooperate with the Municipal Council’s cleanliness and mosquito-control programmes.
  10. If I noticed stagnant water or blocked drains in public places, I would inform the local authorities.
  11. If anyone in my family had persistent fever or other symptoms of dengue, I would take the person to a doctor without delay.
  12. I would also spread awareness among family members and neighbours about cleanliness, mosquito control and dengue prevention.
