Although a brilliant scientist, Griffin’s obsessive pursuit of invisibility, lawlessness, and social isolation drive him to revenge, theft and violence, as the story shows. His arrogance, paranoia and moral blindness complete his descent into destruction, and the self-inflicted consequences are tragic.
