Solution
Matilda’s dissatisfaction and fixation on worldly gain are her biggest flaws in “The Necklace”. She leads a simple life, yet she yearns for luxury all the time. She borrows jewellery to look wealthy out of vanity, but after losing it, she suffers for years. Her unwillingness to recognize reality and her irrational aspirations ultimately lead to her demise.
