Solution
Bauxite and Copper are the major non-ferrous metals found in India. Bauxite (the ore for aluminium) occurs in peninsular laterite rocks, with Odisha being the largest producer, specifically in the Kalahandi, Sambalpur, and Koraput districts, alongside major deposits in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga and Gujarat’s Jamnagar. Conversely, Copper deposits are highly limited and majorly concentrated in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, the Singhbhum belt of Jharkhand, and the Jhunjhunu (Khetri) region of Rajasthan.
