An angle which is half of its supplement is of ______.
Advertisements
Solution
An angle which is half of its supplement is of 60°.
Explanation:
Let the required angle be x.
Then, its supplement will be (180° – x).
It is given that x is half of its supplement i.e. (180° – x).
Therefore, x = `1/2`(180° – x)
⇒ 2x = 180° – x
⇒ 2x + x = 180°
⇒ 3x = 180°
⇒ x = `180^circ/3`
⇒ x = 60°
