Solution

Given: Power (P) = 3.2 kW = 3200 W

Voltage (V) = 220 V

We know that,

P = VI

⇒ I = `P/V`

⇒ I = `3200/220`

⇒ I = 14.55 A

As the required current for the air-conditioner is 14.55 A and the rated current of the fuse is 10 A, the fuse will blow, cutting off the power supply. When this air-conditioner is turned on, the domestic circuit will experience severe overloading, causing the electric fuse to instantly melt and break the electrical connection to prevent a fire.
