अधोलिखितम् गद्यांशं आङ्गलभाषया अनुवादं कुरुत।

चन्द्रापीडोऽपि तत्रैव शिलातले, निरभिमानताम्‌ अतिगम्भीरतां च कादम्बर्याः निष्कारणवत्सलतां महाश्वेतायाः, अतिसमृद्धिं च गन्धर्वराजलोकस्य मनसा भावयन्‌, केयूरकेण संवाह्मामानचरणः, क्षणादिव क्षणदां क्षपितवान्‌। अथ समुद्रते सवितरि शिलातलात्‌ उत्थाय चन्द्रापीडः प्रक्षालितमुखकमलः, कृतसन्ध्यानमस्कृतिः गृहीतताम्बूलः “केयूरक! विलोकय, देवी कादम्बरी प्रबुद्धा वा न वा? क्व सा तिष्ठति?” इत्यवोचत्‌। गतप्रतिनिवृत्तेन च तेन “देव! मन्दप्रासादस्य अधस्तात्‌, अङ्गणसौधवेदिकायां महाश्चेतया सह अवतिष्ठते” इत्यावेदिते, ताम्‌ आलोकितुम्‌ आजगाम्‌।

Chandrapida, too, lying right there on the stone slab, reflecting in his mind upon the lack of pride and the deep seriousness of Kadambari, the uncaused affection of Mahashweta, and the immense opulence of the world of the Gandharva king, while having his feet massaged by Keyuraka, passed the night as if it were a single moment.

Then, as the sun arose, Chandrapida got up from the stone slab, washed his lotus-like face, performed his morning prayers, and took a betel leaf (tambula). He said, ‘Keyuraka! Go check whether Lady Kadambari is awake or not. Where is she staying?’

Upon going and returning, Keyuraka informed him, ‘My Lord! Beneath the palace, on the courtyard’s whitewashed terrace, she sits together with Mahashweta.’ Having been thus informed, Chandrapida went there to see her.”
