Question
A trolley is pushed along a road with a force of 400 N through a distance of 60 m in 1 minute. Calculate the power developed.

Solution
Force applied, (F) = 400 N
Distance travelled, (S) = 60 m
Time, (t) = 60 s
So,
Work done = Force × Distance
= (400) (60) J
= 24000 J
Now, we can calculate the power of the body as,
Power = `"Work done"/"Time"` So , Power = `24000/60`W = 400 W
So , the power of this appliance is 400 W .
