Solution

We have,

Radius of the solid metallic sphere, R = 8 cm and

Radius of the spherical ball , r = 2 cm

Now,

The number spherical balls obtained`= "Volume of the solid metallic sphere"/"Volume of a spherical ball"`

`=((4/3 pi"R"^3))/((4/3pi"r"^3))`

`=("R"/"r")^3`

`=(8/2)^3`

= 4

=64

So, the number of spherical balls obtained is 64.
