Solution

Given: L = 30 cm = 30 ×10-2 m, Δl = 32 cm − 30 cm = 2 cm = 2 × 10−2

To find: Strain

Formula: Strain = `(Deltal)/L`

Calculation: From formula,

Strain = `(2 xx 10^-2)/(30 xx 10^-2)`

= 6.667 × 10−2

The strain produced in the wire is 6.667 × 10−2.
