Solution

In a ratio $$\frac{a}{b}$$, $$a$$ is the antecedent and $$b$$ is the consequent.

Given: $$\frac{\text{antecedent}}{\text{consequent}} = \frac{3}{4}$$.

Consequent = 144.

$$\frac{\text{antecedent}}{144} = \frac{3}{4}$$

Antecedent = $$\frac{3 \times 144}{4} = 3 \times 36 = 108$$.

Therefore, the antecedent is 108.
