The referee should call a fault for an illegal back‑row attack: a back‑row player must take off from behind the 3 m (attack) line, and if they step on or past that line during the take‑off the attack is illegal. As a result the attacking team loses the rally and the opponents are awarded the point (and service if applicable under rally scoring).
