Solution

A kite is flying at a height of 30 metres from the level ground, attached to a string inclined at 60° to the horizontal. The length of string is `underlinebb(20sqrt(3)  m)`.

Explanation:

Let the string length be L.

The vertical height = L · sin 60° = 30.

Since `sin 60^circ = sqrt(3)/2`,

L = `30/(sqrt(3)/2)`

= `60/sqrt(3)`

= `20sqrt(3)` m
