A company declares 6% half-yearly dividend. If a person has 175 shares at par value of ₹ 25 each, what will he receive as yearly dividend?

Solution

Given:

Half-yearly dividend = 6%

Annual dividend = 6% × 2 = 12%

Number of shares = 175

Par value per share = ₹ 25

Dividend per share

= 12% of ₹ 25 `= 12/100 xx25`

= ₹ 3

Total dividend

= ₹ 3 × 175

= ₹ 525
