Solution

Given:

Diameter = 105 m ⇒ r = 52.5 m; h = 3 m; l = 53 m.

Total Area = Curved Surface Area of Cylinder + Cone = 2πrh + πrl = πr(2h + l)

2h + l = 2(3) + 53 = 59

Total area = π × 52.5 × 59

= 3097.5 π m2

total ≈ 3097.5 × 3.14159265    ...[Using π ≈ 3.14159265]

= 9730.80 m2

Using π = `22/7` (common in school problems)

total = 3097.5 × `22/7`

= 9735 m2
