Solution

Given: Radius of circle r = 7.5 cm; circle is inscribed in the square so square side = diameter = 2r = 15 cm.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Side of square s = 2r = 15 cm.

2. Area of square = s2

= 152

= 225 cm2

3. Area of circle = πr2

= π × (7.5)2

= 56.25π cm2

4. Required area = Area(square) – Area(circle)

= 225 – 56.25π cm2

5. Numerical value (π ≈ 3.1416):

56.25π ≈ 176.71

So 225 – 176.71 ≈ 48.29 cm2

Area outside the circle and inside the square = 225 – 56.25π cm2 ≈ 48.29 cm2.
