Solution
Given Data:
Mass of the body (m) = 50 kg
Momentum (p) = 5000 kgms−1
(i) Velocity of the body
Formula: Momentum (p) = Mass (m) × Velocity (v)
\[ v = \frac{p}{m} \]
\[ v = \frac{5000}{50} \]
v = 100 m/s
(ii) Kinetic energy of the body
\[ \text{K.E.} = \frac{p^{2}}{2m} \]
\[ \text{K.E.} = \frac{(5000)^{2}}{2 \times 50} \]
\[ \text{K.E.} = \frac{2{,}50{,}00{,}000}{100} \]
= 2,50,000 J
