Solution

Total no. of possible outcomes = 8 + 6 + 4 = 18 {8 red, 6 white, 4 black}

E ⟶ event of getting no black ball

No. of favourable outcomes = 4 {4 black balls}

Probability, P(E) =`"No. of favorable outcomes"/"Total no. of possible outcomes"`

P(E) = `4/18`

= `2/9`

`(barE)` ⟶ event of not getting black ball

`P(barE) = 1 - P(E)`

= `1 - 2/9`

= `7/9`
