Solution

Total money = ₹ 102

Coin types:

₹ 1 coins

50 paise coins

25 paise coins

Their ratio: 16 : 5 : 28

Let the number of coins be:

16x, 5x, 28x

Convert all values into paise

₹ 102 = 102 × 100 = 10200 paise

Total value equation

Value of ₹ 1 coins = 16x × 100 = 1600x paise

Value of 50 paise coins = 5x × 50 = 250x paise

Value of 25 paise coins = 28x × 25 = 700x paise

1600x + 250x + 700x = 10200

2550x = 10200

x = `10200/2550`

x = 4

Substitute the value of x = 4 and find the number of each type of coin

Number of ₹ 1 coins = 16x = 16 × 4 = 64

Number of 50 paise coins = 5x = 5 × 4 = 20

Number of 25 paise coins = 28x = 28 × 4 = 112
