Question

______ has the longest southwest monsoon season.

Options

• Punjab

• Uttar Pradesh

• Tamil Nadu

• Kerala

Answer 1

Kerala has the longest southwest monsoon season.

Explanation:

Kerala has the longest southwest monsoon season since it acts as the entry point for these rainy winds into mainland India. The monsoon hits the southwest coast earliest, usually around June 1st, and is one of the last locations the system leaves during its autumn retreat. Because of its geographic position, the state has a nearly four-month monsoon season that lasts significantly longer than the shorter seasons of landlocked northern states.
