Cl 35.5 2 35.5 × 2 71

The Molecular mass of MgCl2 = Sum of Constituent atomic masses

(Molecular mass of MgCl2) = (Atomic mass of Mg) × 1 + (Atomic mass of Cl) × 2

= (24 × 1) + (35.5 × 2)

= 24 + 71

= 95 u
