उत्तर

Flocs are masses of bacteria associated with fungal filaments to form mesh-like structure. Flocs digest most of the organic material from the sludge. Thus, floc helps in reducing the BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) of the effluent. This helps in the further treatment of sludge.
