It states that the solubility of a gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the pressure of the gas over the solution. Thus, S α P or S = KHP. Where, S is the solubility of the gas in mol L–1, P is the pressure of the gas in bar over the solution. KH, the proportionality constant is called Henry's law constant.
