Mary Koms dad gave her Rs. 2,000/-. She spoke to her friend Only about her problem. He took some elders and friends to meet the two Members of Parliament and seek their support. Two MPs donated Rs, 5,000/- and 3,000/- respectively. Thus Mary Kom managed to raise a princely sum of Rs. 10,000/- for her trip to the USA.
