उत्तर
Given: acceleration = 4ms– 2.
time = 10s and initial velocity = 0
Formula: s = ut + 1/2 at2
Solution:
distance covered s = 0 × t + 1/2 × 4 ms– 2 × (10 s)2.
s = 1/2 × 4 ms– 2 × 100 s2
= 1/2 × 400m
= 200m

Distinguish between acceleration and retardation.
A car travels with uniform velocity of 25 m s-1 for 5 s. The brakes are then applied and the car is uniformly retarded and comes to rest in further 10 s. Find:
- The distance which the car travels before the brakes are applied,
- Retardation and
- The distance travelled by car after applying the brakes.
When is the acceleration due to gravity positive?
The speed of a car increases from 10 km/h to 64 km/h in 10 seconds. What will be its acceleration?

What do you understand about negative acceleration?
The Unit of acceleration is ______.
A quantity has a value of 16ms-2. It is the ______.
Assertion: A negative acceleration of a body can be associated with speeding up of the body.
Reason: Increase in the speed of a moving body is independent of its direction of motion.
