उत्तर १

Heat capacity of the body is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of (whole) body
by 1 ℃ whereas specific heat capacity is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of
unit mass of the body by 1 ℃.
Heat capacity of a substance depends upon the material and mass of the body. Specific heat
capacity of a substance does not depend on the mass of the body.
S.I. unit of heat capacity is `JK^-1` and S.I. unit of specific heat capacity is `Jkg^-1 K^-1`.

उत्तर २

Heat capacity: It is the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature by 1°C. Specific heat capacity: It is defined as the heat capacity per unit mass of that body.

A solid of mass 50 g at 150 °C is placed in 100 g of water at 11 °C when the final temperature recorded is 20 °C. Find the specific heat capacity of the solid. (specific heat capacity of water = 4.2 J/g °C)

Calculate the mass of ice needed to cool 150 g of water contained in a calorimeter of mass 50 g at 32 °C such that the final temperature is 5 °C. Specific heat capacity of calorimeter = 0.4 J g-1 °C-1, Specific heat capacity of water = 4.2 J g-1°C-1, latent heat capacity of ice = 330 J g-1.
