An angel appeared before him suddenly and asked him what the matter was. The angel brought a golden axe from the pond but he refused to accept it. Again the angel brought a silver axe but he did not accept it. When the angel brought an iron axe he did accept it immediately. The angel was pleased with his honesty and offered him all the axes.
