The NSS unit of Vivekanand College, Ambajogai organised a camp at Phavadewadi village. It held from 21st to 24th October. Our group leaders had already visited the village and made contact with the local authorities and elders. There were 72 volunteers in the camp. They were assigned various tasks. There, we had assessed the needs of the community and gathered supplies including medications, books, stationery, seeds, and saplings in accordance with those needs. We were housed at the village's school building. The locals were quite welcoming since they understood who we were. We taught them about topics like agricultural rotation, sanitation, and personal cleanliness. The people cooperated because they were eager to discover new concepts. We demonstrated to them how to maintain and enhance the drainage system. With the aid of all communities, we built sanitary laboratories. We showed them several techniques for keeping the area surrounding their homes clean.
They fed us delicious food and entertained us with songs and dances around a bonfire every night. The camp was a huge success and a lot of fun. We formed long-lasting bonds with the villages.
