The city’s Z. P. School has started a new programme to entice students to read more in an effort to increase literacy and enhance academic performance. Recognizing the importance of literacy development and the numerous benefits it brings, educators are going the extra mile to inspire students to pick up books outside of their regular curriculum.
The initiative, aptly named “Reading Beyond Boundaries”, aims to create a culture of reading among students across all grade levels. Participating schools have implemented a range of methods and activities to make reading an engaging and fun activity. In the library, the school has designated a reading area where students can access a wide selection of books, including fiction, non-fiction, and reference materials. Additionally, the schools are organizing regular visits by authors and guest speakers, who share their experiences and insights to inspire young readers.
Parents and students have both responded favourably to the new initiative. Many parents have applauded the school’s reading promotion efforts and pledged to support their children’s reading habits.
