Most of us have had this experience of seeing trees in our neighbourhood being mercilessly cut down in order to build a house or a public building or to widen a road. Describe any such experience you have had of the felling of a tree you were attached to, with reasons for your special attachment to the tree.

I remember a large tree near my house that was cut down to widen the road. I was especially attached to it because I had spent many evenings sitting under its shade and playing with my friends there. Birds often built their nests in its branches, and its green leaves made the surroundings cool and pleasant. When the tree was cut, the place looked empty and lifeless. I felt sad seeing the tree that had been a part of our neighbourhood for many years being destroyed. Although road widening was necessary, I wished that the tree could have been saved or another place could have been chosen.
