उत्तर १

The adrenal glands have two regions, namely, the outer adrenal cortex and inner adrenal medulla. Both of these regions secrete different hormones. Hormones in the adrenal cortex are grouped into three categories:

  1. Glucocorticoids, e.g., cortisol
  2. Mineralocorticoids, e.g., aldosterone
  3. Sexcorticoids, e.g testosterone,.

The adrenal medulla secretes two hormones:

  1. Epinephrine (adrenaline)
  2. Nor-epinephrine (nor-adrenaline).

उत्तर २

The cortical hormones are categorised as:

  1. Mineralocorticoids: They regulate mineral metabolism, specially Na+ and K+ ions.
  2. Glucocorticoids: They regulate carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.
  3. Sex corticoids: Certain cortical hormones behave like sex hormones. They are both male and female hormones in both sexes.
